About this deal

You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Established acts that represented the UK in the ’70s include Olivia Newton-John, The Shadows and The New Seekers – all featured. The earlier years of the contest are celebrated on Disc 4 with the classic ‘Congratulations’ by Cliff Richard leading the track-list. This unique 3 CD album features 70 of the most memorable songs from the contests history – including enduring fan favourites alongside massive selling winners.

LP2 presents a run of perfect Pop gems, including Loreen with ‘Euphoria’, ‘Popular’ from Eric Saade, ‘Wild Dances’ from Ruslana, Helena Paparizou, Verka Serduchka and Netta, before heading back to well-loved ‘80s winners from Nicole with ‘A Little Peace’, Johnny Logan’s ‘What’s Another Year’, and one of the greatest singers ever, Céline Dion with the 1988 victor ‘Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi’.It has most of the hits that you would expect but there are a few that I suspect the record company couldn’t include like Cliff Richard’s Congratulations etc most probably due to licensing or copyright issues. The discs are just slotted into a cut half way inside the sleeve, I’m not a fan of this as the discs can get scratched with frequent use.

I really like this album as it manages to incapsulate the very essence of what the Eurovision Song Contest is all about. and this incredible collection draws to a close with Domenico Modugno’s ‘Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu’, which would become a huge hit, often better known as ‘Volare’, and finishing with ‘Refrain’ from Lys Assia - the first ever winner from 1956. However there is one glaring omission Celine Dion "Ne partez pas sans moi" 1988 winner for Switzerland, why?
